Driving the Bridge

Driving back into San Francisco from Marin County

Pacific is Angry Today

I finally got to see enormous waves in the Pacific! East coast ain’t got shit on the west coast!

Golden Gate Bridge

The Golden Gate Bridge off in the distance, from up at Coit Tower. The sun came out for a bit while I was up there, so I laid down on the ledge and enjoyed the gorgeous weather and the fresh air. This is definitely a winter I could enjoy.

First Meal in San Francisco

Burrito from Taqueria Zorro. I sat in the back and watched Sports Center with about 10 guys during lunch while eating this massive, sodium infused burrito.

1 Slice of Cheese; 4 crackers

Dinner on the 7 hour flight out to San Francisco.

San Francisco

san_francisco

Hooray for random traveling! I’m going to visit a friend in San Francisco February 11-15, and I couldn’t be more excited! It’s basically tied with NYC as my favorite American city, but I haven’t been out there in over two years. I’m really pumped this time because my friend Chris that I’m staying with recently moved into the city. He used to live in Alameda so it was always a hike to the BART into the city. But now he lives in the North Beach section of San Fran, with a phenomenal view of the city. I saw some pics from his place- one direction you see Coit Tower (only a few blocks away), another direction you see the Financial District and TransAmerica Tower, another direction is uphill to Washington Square and St. Peter and Paul Church, and the other direction the Golden Gate Bridge! I don’t think you could ask for a better view! The pictures are amazing but I’m much more excited to see it in person!

I’ve been to the city twice, but definitely looking for great “must-do’s” while I’m out there. Suggestions are certainly welcomed!

Bye Bye, Hockeytown!

Goodbye Detroit! See ya next time around. Been up since 430am on my way back to the NYC; but thankfully this time I don’t have to go into work after landing at 9am. I get to sleep all day! Safe travels to everyone who is still traveling this holiday season!

Choose your favorite Parisienne!

So the YSL contest is closed, and the 10 finalists have been chosen. If you want to play a part in sending someone to Paris for New Years, cast your vote for your favorite Parisienne. Who knows, maybe karma will come back around and send you on a vacation somewhere? One can dream, right?

Spirit Airlines

I’ve been sitting on this free flight through Spirit Airlines for about a year now, and just as I’m about to book a it I get an email saying that the requirements have changed. It seems complicated as all hell now. Before, it was just HAVE X AMOUNT OF MILES, YOU CAN BOOK A FLIGHT ANYWHERE, AS LONG AS IT’S 21 DAYS IN ADVANCE. Now I’m seeing things about 180 days in advance, black out dates, etc. Just my luck.

UPDATE: I completely jumped ahead of myself, as usual! This actually helped me out by turning my one free flight into multiple free flights! I have 40,000 miles in my account, and instead of using 35,000 of them on a flight to Puerto Rico, I’m now only using 10,000. AND I get to fly from multiple cities now, so I can fly into San Juan and out of St Thomas, which I couldn’t do before! I’ve always wanted to visit the Virgin Islands, and I think I’m finally going to be able to! This is freakin awesome, I love Spirit!
